Ultrasonic or piezoelectric instruments operate based on the properties of certain crystals found in nature or specific man-made ceramics. Through micro-vibrations, they can precisely cut or file the bony tissues of the nose, minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding soft tissues. This significantly reduces inflammation and enhances overall precision.
The integration of this technology has transformed rhinoplasty into a less invasive procedure, offering more predictable results and a considerably more tolerable post-operative period for the patient.
All this technology results in less bleeding and, consequently, reduced bruising and tissue inflammation, depending on the patient's characteristics. Additionally, osteotomies or bone cuts can be performed with millimetre precision, and respecting the internal periosteum provides stability and smoothness to the correction.
The use of ultrasonic microblades enables the rounding and polishing of the bone and even allows for reshaping and resculpting through a technique known as rhinosculpture.
